AS A PATIENT

TALK2CARE gives you the opportunity to be heard in a situation where the opportunity for dialogue is otherwise small.

AS A RELATIVE

With TALK2CARE, you as a relative have the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with your loved one, which can help create peace and security for the patient.

AS CARE STAFF

TALK2CARE ensures you the opportunity to optimize care through dialogue with the patient, taking into account their own wishes and needs.

TALK2CARE was developed in collaboration with doctors and nurses at Odense University Hospital.
TALK2CARE

"One of the worst things patients experience is actually not being able to say anything while they are critically ill," says Eva Lærkner, a nurse at the Anesthesiology Intensive Care Unit at OUH.

TALK2CARE brings back the dialogue between patient, relatives and staff.

WHAT DO USERS SAY ABOUT TALK2CARE?

PATIENT,
ORALLY INTUBATED, 52-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WITH PNEUMONIA

"For me, TALK2CARE was a lifeline to express myself. I could communicate my problem easier, whether it was pain or lacking sleep, it was really good – and the staff understood what I wanted."

INTENSIVECARE NURSE, OUH,
EVA LÆRKNER

"One of the worst things patients experience is actually not being able to say anything while they are critically ill. One of the reasons we have developed a communication app is that it allows patients to become more involved in their own care and treatment."

CHIEF DOCTOR,
THOMAS STROM

"Patients who are kept awake spend less time on a ventilator, spend less time in the intensive care unit, and are also discharged from the hospital faster."

In cases where the technology is too challenging for the patient, a physical folder has been developed that the patient can use to help with communication. The folder contains the same icons as the application, so the patient can find comfort in a mix of both forms of communication.
